Description
These rather plain spicy biscuits are an all-time favourite in German families. They are the perfect addition to your coffee or tea break – to be dunked or enjoyed as they are. Sometimes they are called Lebkuchen or Honigkuchen (honey cakes), but since they are generally made with golden syrup instead honey, “Sirupkekse” (syrup cookies) is a more descriptive name. But like most traditional German Christmas cookies, they contain the distinct spice mixture of cinnamon and cloves. The small pack contains 250g (also available in 500g) Mehr über die Geschichte von Weihnachtsgebäck hier.
